Hello, my name is Leah. Thank you for visiting my blog. I am in the middle of an adventure. Life’s adventure, that is. I recently celebrated a milestone, although not a major one, it signaled a fresh start and a new page.
And I am starting here — a new blog. I discovered the joys of blogging over 10 years ago and have created blogs on Tumblr, Blogger and WordPress. I currently have a recipe blog that transitioned into a personal journal during the pandemic. As much as I loved writing about life’s celebrations and simple joys on my blog, I can no longer maintain it now that life has gone back to normal.
With the fresh pages of Spice and Grace, I hope to post my recipes with beautiful photos of the food that I cook. I will let life and creativity take me to new adventures. In the mean time, here is a little bit about me:
- I am Filipina-American.
- I work in San Francisco and live across the Bay.
- I am a voracious reader and read to relax. I read a lot of “brain candies” although I devour classics and Pulitzer Prize winners. My favorite genres are cozy mysteries, mysteries, Young Adult and magical realism.
- I love to travel but am becoming more of a homebody. As long as I have books, coffee, tea, pastries and ingredients for food that I want to make, I can live at home in my pj’s for days.
- I love to cook for myself and others then take pictures of the food that I make to post on the blog or Instagram.
- I love to celebrate the joys of each season by buying fresh produce at the farmers markets and taking pictures of holidays in each season.
- Fall and Spring are my favorite seasons followed by the coziness and solitude of winter. I do not like hot summer days.
About Spice and Grace:
I named my new blog “Spice and Grace” to remind myself that life is full of new beautiful and delicious surprises in everyday living, eating, traveling, friendships and family. Just like a combination of spices, life is never bland, lackluster or tasteless. With an adventuresome spirit, life is full of surprises that we can create ourselves. Life is also full of God’s grace. He provides and He never fails.
This blog is where I will keep the recipes of food that I make. I have been a Pescatarian since 2022. I mostly eat vegetables and seafood as my way of eating healthier. I make an exception to eat meat when at a steak house (which we go to at least twice a year because the Mr is a big carnivore.) I also eat meat when I travel because we only live once! 🙂
Thank you for visiting and cheers to simple joys and fun adventures ahead!
